So Ricoh spoiled us with another variant of their GR series: The GR IV. It has a new APS-C image sensor, improved autofocus and stabilization, but it remains faithful to its 28mm wide angle lens.
We shot a few test shots November 2025. Just quick snaps, but they sure look nice! We did not have the new tiny external flash at our disposal so all of these are shot without a flash. CLICK ON THE IMAGES TO SEE THEM IN BIG SIZE.
OOMC HOUSE DOG LILITH · ISO 800 · 1/250 · f5.6
Nice vibrant colors and lots of details. Jpeg straight out of camera.
HORROR POSTER WALL AT HOME · ISO 800 · 1/30 · f2.8
Lots of details and again true to life colors - unlike those "effect" ones you get from a Fujifilm X100 series camera. Jpeg straight out of camera
HERBS · ISO 800 · 1/80 · f9
Like its predecessor Ricoh GR IV has a super convient macro function. Jpeg straight out of camera
ONE OF MANY REPAIR GUYS AT TAVERN OF LOST SOULS · ISO 3200 · 1/15 · f2.8
This was shot in the dark - in our new favorite local bar. The image stabilization worked wonders here - remember there's no flash in use here - shot completely hand held. Raw file converted in Capture One.
YOUNG LOVERS AT OOMC · ISO 800 · 1/30 · f2.8
Shot under horrible light conditions - next to a cabinet with warm LED lights and with daylight coming through the windows. But it looks good. Raw files converted in Capture One.
THAT'S GOTTA HURT · ISO 1250 · 1/30 · f2.8
Graven Tattoo's Rasmus just wrapped the outline of the church burning back piece. We asked the lucky new owner/bearer to lift up his shirt and we snapped this using the camera's built in snap focus which was preset to 1 meter. Raw file converted in Capture One.
VINYLTROLDEN MANNE · ISO 2500 · 1/30 · f2.8
It was pretty dark in the corner and Manne was wearing black, but there's still plenty of details in the file. Raw file converted to black and white in Capture One.
THERE YOU GO PIXEL PEEPER · ISO 800 · 1/60 · f3.2
Last one is for the pixel peepers. Jpeg straight out of camera.
