SB lenses (75 and 180 mm) were designed to fit tilt/shift adapter and at the same time be able to focus at infinity, because the adapter works somehow as extension tube (27.2 mm) and with regular lens it is impossible to focus at infinity. If you do not need to focus at infinity and want to make close-ups only it works great for that, too.
